A safe place to blather

I love having this other blog. I can get my dork on without giving away any secrets to my livejournal readers.

I'm so ready to get to the end of Peculiar Book One. Not that I'm bored with Peculiar. Quite the opposite. I'm ready to end the first big plot arc and move to the next.

Book One will culminate with the death of Mother XYZ. The way I'm thinking of it now, it will be at the hands of Paul Tech 9 Pollinator. Paul Tech's history with Mother XYZ (in The Community) and having worked for her once on SimEarth makes him a logical choice to do the deed. He's fully aware of what she's capable of (and has a bit of an idea about what she's up to on simEarth).

Paul Tech's also in the perfect position. He knows Mortimer Goth, who's growing cowplants. He's also married to Aggie, who's quite the ametuer botanist and is close friends with Pascal Curious (who's also a bit of a botanist, what with his flower work). Preliminary thoughts have me getting Pascal to gold flower arranging, giving me the snapdragons. He'll realize the soothing effects (useful for raising his twins) and share them with Aggie/Paul (who also have twins). Paul uses "bad" snapdragons to poison Mother and then feed her to a cowplant.

Paul needs someone in the Alien Mansion to help with this. I need a rogue agent. Mother JKL is always available for the highest price. She's approached by nameless military men (who are working with Paul). JKL plants the poison snapdragons which result in XYZ's downfall.

The Government is REALLY who kills XYZ. They've gotten all they want from her and know she's dangerous. They want to remove her and put Circe Sunseri in her place (so Circe will need to make General).

Pascal Curious (who's in law enforcement) is approached by his superiors to spy on Paul Tech. Law Enforcement is more interested in Paul's stealing (he's helping Mortimer get supplies by stealing them from the Government labs) but they have a feeling Paul is up to more (while law enforcement is part of the government--along with the military--they don't work together and often work at cross purposes). Pascal, who never really wanted to be in law enforcement, refuses and is sent packing (with some hush money in the form of a severance package/bought out contract). That gives Pascal the time to dedicate to his flowers (he starts a small business) and raise his sons. He doesn't forget about the law's interest in Paul but doesn't care.

Pascal gets involved with Piquant Pollinator and Lunar Rockette Khillian (thanks to his interest in horticulture) and in a round about fashion becomes a criminal (which leads to him rising quickly in the ranks).

All of this snapdragon stuff has to happen after the next group of updates--the updates in writing will include:

1. Aftermath(tentaive title): Paul examines preggo Percy and Lazlo (which spans two evenings) and then discovers Aggie's pregnancy.

2. Aging: Apollo Khillian becomes toddler while Rocky introduces Piquant to her bubble growing venture. Sven Beaker becomes toddler while Zondek gets closer to his grandfather, Paul Tech.

3. Abe at The Club: Abe gets closer to Zephyr much to Don's ire. He plots a way to get rid of Abe which ties to. . .

4. Daniel Pleasant gets back with Frances Worthington. Miles and Lakishmi's engagement revealed through a meeting with Zoey and Jasmine (with preggo Percy and Lazlo). Plan for a reception once babies arrive (after M/L and Z/J married).

5. Mortimer Goth meets Bella Grigri. Bella is to work with Mortimer, helping him write up his research. Mortimer meets Bella's friends, twins Almeric and Aldric. Cowplants revealed. (this could tie in with #2--make it a horticulture themed update, with Mort's plants, Pascal's flowers, and Paul's involvement).

6. Kittens and aging: Piquant has to give away her kittens (which causes Albert to reveal his trauma to Pascal). Zondek and Robert age to teen (preggo Aggie visits Stella--see story through their convo). Apollo Khillian and Spencer Sunseri become children (and kittens become cats).

7. Births: final kitten becomes cat right after Percy delivers babies. Leads to births of all three preggos.

8. Abe arrives at PAP household (that's still shaky, but I want to end this round with him arriving, needing a place to stay).

Challenges: In progress

These are the challenges I'm still working on (and will eventually update again, when I'm not obsessing over Peculiar).

Family Farm Challenge: This is kind of combined "de-uglification" challenge mixed with a five generation Family Farm challenge. I took the winner from GUCCI (Jerry Lee Ishkabibble) and married him off to my self sim (re-named Brand-een Yokel).

It starts: in the beginning, there was Jerry Lee and Brand-een. . .

Continuation of Gen 2.

They're leaving the nest!

Death comes in threes.

Gen 2 continues.

Hello, my name is Earl.

---------------------

Apocalypse Challenge: this is a REAL challenge (and will be even more challenging now that my game is patched and I don't have the toddler learning drag--man, I loved that bug).

Part 1

I'm trying to keep the updates on that one to a minimum (so you get a lot of action with only one update). And I do have enough pictures for another update but I'd have to go back and get back into the voice of that one and I'm just not intersted in that right now.

---------------------------

Prosperity Challenge: another challenge to use as a distraction when I want to get away from my story neighborhoods.

Week 1

Week 2

---------------------

That's about it for my distractions/challenges in progress.

Challenges: Links to completed challenge stories

I've completed a few challenges and posted story-like results.

First up:

Bachelorette Challenge: just like it sounds, it's a challenge in the vein of those annoying reality shows "The Bachelor/Bachelorette". I enjoyed this challenge and have thought about doing it again. Hmm, maybe I will and post it here?

Links:

Episode one/intro: Ivanna Mahn meets her bachelors.

Episode two: First elimination and some drama (of course)

Episode three: Another elimination, more drama

Episode four: Another elimination, even MORE drama (are you sensing a trend?)

Episode five: Really, you don't know what's going to happen?

FINALE: Who does she end up with?

--------------------------------------

I've also completed an Asylum Challenge. I put my own little twist on it, and made it a CELEBRITY Asylum Challenge. Who doesn't like celebrities?

First few days: intros and some fun

First full week (approximately): how are the crazies doing?

FINALE: did they all survive? ooh, you'd better go find out.

Then, since I kind of liked my sweet crazy celebrities, I followed them after it was all over.

Where are they now (update 1 and update 2): Can they live normal lives outside the nut hatch?

I may occassionally have more "where are they now" updates but I can't guarantee it.

-----------------------------

Uglification Challenge: This was a group venture. The purpose was to have different players all start with the same sim and see (in 10 generations) how ugly the spawn could be. Everyone's sim had the same last name: Ishkabibble. So the challenge was dubbed: GUCCI (Group Ugly Concentration Challenge: Ishkabibble).

Founder: Founder Izzy Ishkabibble moves to the new neighborhood of Feo.

Generation 2 arrives: One from a distant planet!

Generation 2 growing up and more growing up. And still more from Gen 2.

Generation 3. And a bit more. And a little more.

Generation 4. And a bit more. And a little more. And one more.

Generation 5. And a bit more. And a little more. And one more.

Generation 6. And a bit more. And a little more.

Generation 7. And a bit more. And a little more. More. And more. And MORE. And MORE.

Generation 8. And a bit more. And a little more. More. And more.

Generation 9. And a bit more. And a little more.

Generation 10. And a bit more. And a little more.

Retrospective and Winner!

------------

I think that about covers all the challenges I've completed. The next post will show challenges still in progress.

Links to: Peculiar

Right now, this is my major story I'm working on (and have been working on for a little over a year now). I'll be the first to admit, it's more than a little rough at first (choppy writing, the voice doesn't work quite right at first, I don't have the walls totally up in all the pics) but it does get tighter as it goes.

I'm going to give the update title (I call chapters "updates") and then a wee little synopsis (if necessary).

I don't like to put warnings on my stories, just because I feel like it's asking forgiveness for what I've done. I've also seen people go to extremes with warnings, making notes about every little thing that MIGHT offend someone. I will give this ONE warning in the form of a movie rating.

Peculiar is rated "R". It contains adult themes, strong language, and violence.

That said, let's get linky:

Intros and Such: It's the first installment of Peculiar, where we meet Doraleen Pleasant and the Summerdream sisters (Titania and Bottom).

Home for Wayward Boys (intro): Introduction to The Home for Wayward Boys with caretaker Bjorn Beaker, his son and the boys he calls his Wards.

More Intros: Meet the Curious family. What's that falling from the sky?

Out of This World Intro: Glam Curious goes to inspect the crash site and meet his new neighbors.

Getting to Know You: The Pollinator teens are making themselves at home with help from the Curious family, but Paul Tech 9 still wants to return to The Community.

Be Made One (Part 1 and Part 2): Aggie and Paul take their vows in the afternoon but the excitement continues long into the night for the party goers.

----------------------

Phew, that's all of it so far. So what's next?

There are some new characters waiting in the wings, characters that will weave their way into the story leading to the close of Peculiar Book One and send us barrelling into Peculiar Book Two.

I hope you enjoy the reading. I'll be posting more linky posts when I get time.

Cherry post! POP!

Pop goes the cherry!

Just seeing how this format works and psyching myself up for The Project.

What is The Project?

The Project is putting links up for all my sims stories living over at my livejournal.

Since I'm nothing but a huge PIMP when it comes to my sims stories ("you like that? you want a go, man? Just twenty dollars to make you holler.") I want to make it as easy as possible for anyone interested in reading.

AND (now I'm not committing to this JUST yet). . .

I might even post stories that will ONLY show up here.

But for now, stories that are at my livejournal will stay at my livejournal. If I like this format, I might make some short stories just for this venue.

SO. . .

. . .time to start working on The Project. I think I'll start with the easiest stories and work back.
